What is Asana?

Asana is a work management platform that organizes work as tasks inside projects, with projects rolling up to portfolios and portfolios feeding goals. It is the choice of many marketing operations, creative, and product teams that need more structure than a Kanban board provides but less rigidity than a full PMO suite.

The company has been public on the NYSE since 2020 and counts a large portion of the Fortune 100 among its customers. Its product line ranges from a free Personal tier for small teams to Enterprise+ with advanced governance and AI controls.

Asana core capabilities

The AI features are useful but not yet load-bearing. Teams that lean on them most are creative ops generating brief drafts from intake forms, and program managers using AI status updates to compile weekly executive reports.
